At SMI, we aim to provide transparent, reliable and flexible shipping options for our customers. The available shipping methods and exact shipping costs depend on the size and weight of the order as well as the delivery address.
The exact shipping costs are displayed during checkout after you have entered your delivery address and before you place your order.

Orders are shipped from our warehouse in Germany using established postal, parcel and freight service providers.

Shipping Options
Depending on the weight, dimensions, destination and type of product, the following shipping options may be available.
Economy Shipping – up to 2 kg
Economy Shipping is intended primarily for smaller and lightweight shipments.
- Weight limit: up to 2 kg
- Carrier: postal service
- Estimated transit time: approximately 3–15 business days, depending on the destination and distance from our warehouse in Germany
Economy Shipping is an economical option and may take longer than standard parcel delivery, particularly for international destinations.
Standard Shipping – up to 30 kg
Standard Shipping is our regular parcel delivery service for most orders.
- Weight limit: up to 30 kg
- Carrier: established parcel service provider
- Estimated transit time: approximately 3–8 business days, depending on the destination
The available carrier and exact shipping charge are displayed during checkout.
Express Shipping
Express delivery may be available for suitable products and destinations.
- Weight limit: generally up to 20 kg
- Carrier: DHL, UPS or another available express service provider
- Estimated transit time: approximately 1–5 business days, depending on the destination
Availability and costs are calculated according to the shipment and delivery address.
Pallet and Freight Shipping
Large, heavy or bulky products may be shipped by freight forwarder.
- Typically used for: shipments over 30 kg or bulky goods
- Carrier: freight forwarder / pallet transport
- Delivery time: depends on the destination, dimensions and type of shipment
Where necessary, our customer service team will contact you to coordinate the delivery.
Shipping Using Your Own Carrier Account
For business customers, shipping using an existing carrier account may be possible by prior arrangement.
After your order has been prepared, we can provide the necessary package dimensions and weight so that shipping can be organized using your preferred carrier.
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are not calculated as a general flat rate. They depend on factors including:
- delivery country and address
- shipment weight
- package dimensions
- selected shipping method
- type and dimensions of the ordered products
The applicable shipping methods and exact shipping costs are shown during checkout before the order is submitted.
There are therefore no unexpected shipping charges added after an order has been placed.
Processing and Delivery Times
The delivery times stated above refer to the estimated transit time after the shipment has been handed over to the carrier.
Order processing depends on product availability and the products included in the order. Where applicable, the expected availability or delivery information is also displayed on the respective product page.
If an order contains products with different availability dates, the shipment may be dispatched together once all products are available unless otherwise agreed.
International Shipping
SMI supplies customers in Germany and numerous international markets.
Available shipping methods, costs and delivery times depend on the destination country and are displayed during checkout wherever automatic calculation is available.
Deliveries Outside the European Union
Unless expressly stated otherwise, deliveries to countries outside the European Union are made Delivered at Place (DAP).
This means that additional charges such as:
- import duties
- import VAT
- customs clearance fees
- other local taxes or charges
may be imposed by the destination country.
These charges are not included in our product prices or shipping charges and must generally be paid by the recipient.
Packaging
All orders are carefully packed according to the type, size and sensitivity of the products.
Suitable protective packaging is used to minimize the risk of transport damage. Large or heavy products may be secured and shipped on pallets where necessary.
Shipment Tracking
Where tracking is provided by the selected carrier, the tracking information will be sent to the customer after dispatch.
Tracking availability may vary depending on the shipping method, carrier and destination country.
